The history of enamel started from pre-Christian times in ancient Egypt where it was firstly used for making jewelry crafts later in the 6th century. Inlaid enamel, carved enamel, embossed enamel, transparent enamel and painting enamel came out one after another in Europe. In the 8th century, China promoted enamel industry were greatly developed by the end of the 14th century. In the middle of the 15th century, the enamel products were extremely famous during Emperor Jingtai period in Ming Dynasty, and they were called Jingtailan (Cloisonne). In the middle of 19th century, the development of industries in all fields brought the rise of steel plate enamel and created a new era of modern enamellingl. In the first half of the 20th century, enamel industry rapidly developed due to the emergence of various kinds of enamels, the promotion and application of steel plates and other metal materials, and the upgrading of refractory materials, kilns and enamelling technology .
